The Serbian alphabet

Serbian is written in two official alphabets, Cyrillic and Latin, and every Cyrillic letter has exactly one Latin partner. Spelling is phonetic: each letter is one sound, and words are pronounced as they are written. Below are all 30 letters with an English pronunciation hint and an example word with audio from a real native speaker.

Serbian is written both ways in daily life, so learn both columns. The table shows the Cyrillic capital and small letter, then the Latin equivalent.
