About ParrotBack

ParrotBack is a place to learn the phrases people really say. Each phrase was recorded by a real native speaker — a human voice, not AI — twice: once slowly, so you can hear every sound, and once at natural conversational speed, so you are ready for real life. (The Mongolian recordings are at learner’s speed only.)

The recordings come from the Funky language courses (FunkySerbian, FunkyRussian, FunkyTurkish and more), which taught real, everyday expressions without the grammar hassle. ParrotBack gathers them under one roof, rebuilt for today’s phones and browsers, and without Flash.

Right now there are 198 phrases across 15 languages, with more being restored. The name is the method: a parrot repeats what it hears — hear it, say it back.
